Begin the day cycling along quiet roads on the shores of beautiful Lipno Lake. As you continue your descent into the river valley, tour a 13th century working Cistercian Monastery and cycle under the ramparts of the Rožmberk Castle, a 16th century fortress perched on a knife-edge cliff and almost completely cut off by the river. Soon you'll find yourself lost in the winding alleys of medieval Český Krumlov, a Renaissance and Baroque jewel of Central Europe and your home for two nights. This special town is meant for wandering on foot. Next day, spend the day relaxing, river rafting, hiking down river or cycle up to the UNESCO Heritage Site of Holašovice, a tiny Baroque hamlet. Your hotel is a 4 star hotel in the old town. Optional ride.

Day 4: Třeboň, spas and fishponds
Moving away from Český Krumlov, you'll cycle past Zlatá Koruna, the fortified 14th century monastery, through a nature reserve to the picturesque, medieval spa town of Třeboň. The pie-shaped main square is surrounded by waterworks and lakes. Tour the massive Renaissance chateau and learn about the strange habits of its past owners. A visit to the 16th century local brewery is a must to quench your thirst and chat with the locals.
