I think it may be time for another MyCzechRepublic get-together in Prague! :D

Best evenings for me would be either 6 or 7 June.

    Anyone else interested?

    Susan
P.S. I'm open to suggestions for where to meet. Any place with cold pivo and decent food (that is also close to tram or metro) is okay with me.

    Hi

I would certainly like to join you as I shall be in Praha on 5 and 6th June and flying back to UK on 7th after having spent 14 days in Czech Republic. So 6th would be best for me.

I will be available too, however, I am non-smoker so would appreciate non-smoking place.
June 6 is fine with me.

Jeff and I will be there, June 6 or 7 works for us.

I'm trying to think of a place that is non-smoking... Pivovarsky Dum has the front section for non-smoking, but I'm drawing a blank for other places.

    Ideas, anyone?

    Hi all!

I'd like to join in too. I think the 7th would be better for me but also the 6th should be fine.
Pivovarsky dum is the place by Karlovo Namesti where we once met?

I will try to think of other places but otherwise that place is fine with me too :)

    Hi Guzs

I am sorry but I shall not be able to make 7th as that is day I fly back to UK.

Hope that next time I am in CR the timings will be more convenient.

    Regards

An what about going to the Pivovar a Restaurace u Fleků, I heard it's nice there. They even have their own 500 years old brewery!!! I haven't been there yet, but I think it could be nice there.

Mike, it sounds like everyone - hopefully including Lorenzo - can make it on June 6, so we should be able to meet then.

As far as non-smoking restaurants go, that'll be tough. I know some with non-smoking sections but they may not be the best candidates for a get-together.

I've never been to U Fleků and I'd be up for trying it sometime to form an opinion about it (it seems that some love it, some hate it) but it may be better in the winter with fewer tourists around. Plus the beer is very expensive there (59 CZK for 0.4 l).

    Hi all!

Well, if you prefer a non smoking place then U Fleků is maybe not the right place for the encounter. Many people are smoking there and it's a noisy place. It reminds me to a Bavarian fair. I would say it's ok to go there for one or two beer, but not for staying the whole evening.

Maybe I'll be in Prague during this time and able to participate the meeting. I am looking forward to meet you guys.

So, shall we say Pivovarsky Dum on the 6th? The beers are good (okay, except for that banana-flavored stuff -- errrrggghhh) and the food is reasonably priced.

I'm on my way out of town for several days so if someone could take care of making a reservation for the 6th that would be super-duper.

See you all on the 6th!

So we want the non-smoking section at Pivovarský dům (Ječná/Lípová 15) at 6 p.m. on June 6? Jirko, are you coming? David (POKUSTON) may come as well, so that would be nine people if I'm correct. Here's something weird. I called Pivovarský dům just to find out if they have space in their non-smoking section and they do. However, if they get a group of eight or more people, each person is forced to spend a minimum of 250 CZK for food and drink. This is charged in the form of a non-refundable "deposit", which is used towards your order. The fee can be paid a day in advance or upon arrival. Looking at their menu and beer list and knowing that a "standard" portion is plenty, 250 CZK covers a full meal and about four beers. How does everyone feel about this?

    Hi Dana,
actually I don't know yet. I'm not sure whether I'll be coming or not, but probably I won't be coming. This week I have holiday at school, but next week will be like a final school week, so if there are any exams teachers wants to give us, they'll do it next week.
So, I have really no idea whether I'll have time or not.
    Probably I won't have.

I'm okay with the upfront fee of 250. Do you suppose they do this to keep large groups from occupying tables all evening only to drink one beer each? Can't say I blame them for that, but it does seem a bit odd.

Anyway, I don't see a problem with it (especially since I can't think of anywhere else to go right offhand).

    Hi all,

not sure I can make it on Tuesday and if I come it would probably be for a short time so I won't be able to consume that much.
I will later be around Staroměstské Náměsti for an event organized by an Italian community here in Prague. How about meeting there instead? You could also join this event (it will be held in the Czech National Library) and there will be a free buffet. How does it sound to you? No reservations required. :) You are all invited and if you don't like it I don't think you will have much trouble finding a place to go around there.

Thank you for the invitation Lorenzo! I see you posted it two days ago and no one has reacted to it, so maybe we should stick with Pivovarský dům... I think a restaurant may be a better enviroment for a get-together anyway because it's easier to chat than at an event where people tend to mingle and get scattered around. Plus we might feel a little bit like intruders at the event. :) I don't know...

I'm happy to make a reservation for us at the Piv. dům but I'm not clear anymore on how many of us plan to come. Right now, it's only Susan, Jeff and I who are certain on coming. Jirka - probably not, Lorenzo - maybe, David - maybe. Mike, are you coming or not? Frenki? Magan?

    Hi Dana

At the moment I am not certain as my accommodation in Praha has fallen through so I am trying to find an alternative, which is proving difficult at such short notice.

If I find somewhere then you can count me in but at moment its looking as if I will have to come straight from Olomouc on morning of 7th and catch flight back to UK.

I will let you know asap.
