    Formal (polite) way

Could you speak a little slower?
= Mohl byste mluvit trochu pomaleji? (if you speak to man)
= Mohla byste mluvit trochu pomaleji? (if you speak to woman)

So I could understand you better.
= Tak bych vám mohl lépe rozumět. (if you are man)
= Tak bych vám mohla lépe rozumět. (if you are woman)

    Informal (less polite) way

Could you speak a little slower?
= Mohl bys mluvit trochu pomaleji? (if you speak to man)
= Mohla bys mluvit trochu pomaleji? (if you speak to woman)

So I could understand you better.
= Tak bych ti mohl lépe rozumět. (if you are man)
= Tak bych ti mohla lépe rozumět. (if you are woman)

Is it also all right to say "Mulvte pomalu, prosim."
    or does it sound strong?

    Thank you.

I translated Ryan's polite question as polite question. "Mluvte pomalu, prosím." is also possible but it's polite imperative. It's equivalent to english "Speak slowly, please." and the tone is the same in both languages.

    "Mluvte pomalu, prosím" is formal.
    "Mluv pomalu, prosím" is informal.
