Next spring or early summer we are going to travel in Czech republic.
The planned route roughly: Ostrava-Koprivnice-Olomouc-(Litomysl)-Pardubice-Prague. We are going to travel by bus and train.
Does anyone know automobile or other interesting technical museums on that route? (besides the Tatra musem in Koprivnice and Prague)
Small bypaths don´t matter, our schedule is flexible (12 days +-2days).
I would be grateful for any small hint! :)

National Technical Museum in Prague is great. There is a Skoda museum in Plzen, but I imagine that is a bit out of your way.

And what about Škoda Auto Muzeum in Mladá Boleslav or Technical Museum in Brno?

National Technical Museum in Prague is really very interesting (See http://www.ntm.cz/aframes.html).

Another Škoda museum is in Mladá Boleslav ( http://www.skoda-auto.com/global/history/muzeum/ ). It's specialized in cars.
But it's also a little out of your way.

Nearby Prague is also this museum http://classic.lany.cz/ .

In Ostrava (and nearby) there is plenty of museums of mining and metallurgy (e.g. http://www.muzeumokd.cz/index_en.php ).

Another mining museum is in Kutná Hora. That's in the middle of way from Pardubice to Prague. It's historical museum of silver mining. http://www.kutnahora.cz/index.php?sec=3&cid=63

    Thank you all!

I´ve visited NTM in Prague for four times before, Skoda automusem in Mlada Boleslav once.
The mining museums, sportscar museum, military technical museum and others noted!
But still waiting for tips on the route... 8)

  7. An amazing car collection is in Zlín called the "SAMOHÝL MOTOR VETERAN ZLÍN"

There used to be a fascinating PRAGA museum at Sobín on the outskirts of Prague (Sobín is a short bus ride from Zličin on the end of Line B) Does anyone know what happened to it.

I believe it is now in Zbuzany.

  10. Thanks to Petri for sorting out the Praga museum.
On a visit to the Samohýl collection then do look around the fascinating city of Zlín. What you see would not make much sense without doing a bit of homework before you go. I first went to Zlín in 1989 and managed to get into Building 21, Europe's first "sky scraper", even got shown into the famous office-as-a-lift which was stuck between floors but everything inside was seemingly still intact from Thomaš Bat'a days.

    Useful links
A site for an English art council funded project gives an introduction to Zlín and Batá.
    http://www.bata-ville.com/main_1.html
Its links are badly set up and on my computer stopped the linked site from working properly, so go from here to
    http://www.zlinbata.com/
Which is a rather avante-garde presentation about Zlín. Do not rush it as the opening visuals are rather good and need a lot of time. The photographs of building 21 are fantastic especially those of the lift, which if you do not know it will be mistaken for a static office!
Zlíns own website also has a lot of information

    Keep an eye on

In the past I have seen the car collection of Evžen Majoroš, maybe his Prague Classic Car Centre (where is it? from the photographs it looks as if it could be built by now) will be a must see.

My Czeh friends from Prague are just selling this darling. It is BMW 319 made 1937. German war confiscate. Well loved in this family for 26 years. Isn't it pleasure to see something like this still on the road
    on special occassions?

[OT]The URL (internet address) must target to a place in the internet, not in your hard disk. Thus you need to upload the picture to some webhosting place and write the new URL between the img tags. There's a lot of free webhosting - spaces like 10 MB are enough for such things.[/OT]
