Okay, time for another get-together for anyone in the vicinity of Praha. How do Tuesday, February 28 or Wednesday March 1 (in the evening) look for everyone? We can pick a restaurant once we know how many and what day. I missed the last attempt at a gathering because I was out of town, but we'll try it again and see who can attend. We can hear if Ladis has crashed into any churches lately, whether Gementricxs has decided to relocate to Texas, and which supermodel's mother I'm impersonating that week. Susan
March 1 should be fine with me as well. Susan, I am curious to see who you are going to be next time. Do you think one of your daughters could come as well? Lorenzo
March 1 works for Jeff and I. But Susan, we already know what you look like! Don't you think it's going to be harder to fool us? Dana
Sorry, I can't make it folks. I hope to hear about whether Ladis has demolished any churches, Gementricx'srelocation plans, Susan's disguises etc another time. See you soon. David
How does Na Staré Kovárně v Braniku sound for a meeting (and eating and drinking) place? Should we make a reservation? Or if someone has another suggestion that's great, too. And, regarding the relative authenticity of my identity... yes, you may know what I look like, but do you REALLY know who I am? Hee hee. Lorenzo, I'm afraid you're on your own to meet a supermodel. If I brought one along the crowds of admirers would get in the way of conversation... besides, you'd just end up drooling on your plate and that's so very uncouth. Susan
Hi, March 1 is ok, however my school starts in 7:30 the next day so I won't be with you to too late hours . If we begin at 18:00, I can be with you to 19:00-20:00. And how about transport? I googled this map: There's near a tram station "Kamenicka", so does anybody know what trams/metro are an option if somebody goes from Praha hlavni nadrazi?
Na staré Kovárně v Bráníku sounds good. We will most likely need a reservation. Should we try the salonek to have some peace and quiet? We have a review of the restaurant here along with info about how to get there. Ladis, tram 26 goes directly from hlavní nádraží to Kamenická. It's six stops and it takes 10 minutes. Or metro to Vltavská and then tram 25 two stops. Schedules and connections at idos.cz.
The salonek would be excellent, especially so that we don't disturb the peace and quiet of the other customers at the place. May we ask you (Dana) to make the reservation for 6:00ish? Those who can't make it until later could certainly join us when they can. Looking forward to it. Susan
Sorry, just got to it this morning. Na staré Kovárně v Bráníku is unfortunately full on Wednesday, so I wasn't able to get a reservation. I wouldn't even try going there without a reservation. There's another nice place as an option. It's the U zavěšenýho kafe (At the Hanging Coffee) near the Castle. You walk all the way up Nerudova, continue straight for a few meters and it's on the right side at Úvoz 6. The closest tram stop is Malostranské náměstí, trams 12, 20, 22, 23. (For Ladis : take tram 9 from hlavní nádraží to Újezd and then one of the trams above to Malostranské náměstí). I haven't been able to get a hold of them to see if they have a table available for Wednesday but I can keep trying.
I made us a reservation at U zavěšenýho kafe just so we have something. The back area that would have been the most private was already full, but they'll fit us somewhere else. Wednesday, March 1, 6 p.m., for eight people, under the name 'Dana'. If you'd rather go to another place, we can always cancel this.
