Hi, everybody. I am studying CZ, and I read that the phonem ěĚ could only exist after few types, included F. But... I was looking for any word, any example for FĚ, and I couldn't find it. I guess the book author found a noun writen in one of its cases, and used FĚ... because there isn't any pure, base of word, which will contain this two types together. Could anybody possibly help me? I only need to find a word that contains the FĚ construction. I've asked lots of Czechs , nobody knows. The book is very good, so I think they didn't make a mistake, did they?... Thanks! Dani
good morning You know, I think that "FĚ" is a mistake. I cannot remember any czech word containing "FĚ" (fje). Maybe in some old czech texts... I don't know. Phrase "FĚ" sounds very strange. nice day

HARFĚ hehe... and keeps thinking , we'll fill this topic. It's good, somebody else would need it someday.
I've heard so... but the important thing is the spelling. If it has got FĚ, it can be in my list . Thanks!
Another one is "ofěra" (rather obsolete, not included in Slovník spisovné češtiny, but still can be heard in some Moravian villages).
Fěrtoch and ofěra are of German origin. das Fürtuch = zástěra das Opfer = oběť Generally the words with the letter f are not Czech, with the following exceptions: - doufati (from Old Czech úfati < upvati) - onomatopoeic words (fičeti, hafati, etc,) All feminine nouns ending with -fa have the locative and dative sing. ending -fě: harfa, žirafa, karafa, tomfa, Josefa, Jenůfa, Jaffa, Haifa, (kino) Alfa etc. (mrťafa, kalífa, Mustafa are masculine!)
of course "mrťafa" - called us our math teacher and we didn't know what is she meaning. ........I would better forget!
