Thank you! ----------------------------- I am a child survivor and orphan from the holocaust. My mother's nationality was Czech. She fled the Nazis to Belgium where she was arrested and sent to Auschwitz from Camp Malines, outside of Antwerp on the 21st convoy, car # 465. Her name was Ida Paula Farkas. She was 19 years old when she was killed. When she was taken away, I was 8 months old and had no memory of her. I have documentation and identification found at Camp Maline plus my birth certificate and adoption papers. As I return to the homeland of my mother hoping to rediscover my roots I wonder if there are any pre-arranged programs for people as myself to learn about my mother's nationality. I may also have family that knew my mother. I look forward to hearing from you.

You may want to try and contact the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC. The web link is: http://www.ushmm.org/ Also, here in Houston, Texas, there is a Holocaust Museum that is very informative. Unlike other museums, where you go to learn about art or dinosaurs, this is a museum you have to force yourself to visit since the memories are so unpleasant. But force ourselves we should, in light of certain similarities between those who carried out the Holocaust and those who are trying again to do so, in 2006. The anti-Semitic words of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad are the words of a new Holocaust. Well, anyway. The Houston museum is only about 5 minutes from my home, in the Museum District. If you find that contacting the Houston museum is something that interests you, I can also visit them to retrieve any information they have for you.
