Hi, I sent in a request for an absentee ballot to vote in the primaries + presidential elections, but I never got anything back in the mail. I've never done this before.. Do they send it right before the votes? Did I send it too late/early? Has anyone done this before? Thanks
They don't send you a confirmation letter or anything, they're supposed to just send the ballot shortly before election day. Didn't work for me last time, though. The illiterate at the Registrar's Office apparently couldn't read my address, which is funny because I got plenty of campaign propaganda at that address. I'm still angry about that and it's been almost three years... It does sound awfully early to me to be requesting absentee ballots, but better earlier than later probably.
Don't know if you tried this yet, but you can register online at http://www.fvap.gov/pubs/onlinefpca.html. You can also contact the US Embassy in Prague with voting questions at VotePrague@state.gov.
