Hi there -- I'm staying in Prague for a good 4 months. I'm curious if there are any decent gyms (I usually like to go on the treadmill, with the occasional weight lifting)? I prefer some place to run indoors, than outdoors namely to stay safe -- but any advice really to help integrate regular exercise at CR will be helpful. My main concern is weight gain since dumplings, meat and beer seem to be quite yummy yet waist-enhancing there. Thanks!
I'd recommend Factory Pro, where I go regularly. It's next to Smichovske Nadrazi station. They have good facility, and sauna is great too. Problem is it's quite crowded after working hours (from 6-8pm).
It's 6000 Kc for 6 months, or 4000 Kc for 3 months. You can check it out here: http://factorypro.cz/clenstvi.php
It depends where are you staying. Factory Pro is at Smichov and Cerny Most. World Class Fitness is at Wenceslas Square and Chodov. There are also some others in those huge shopping malls.
What about gyms outside of Praha? Are they quite common in small cities about 40,000? If so, how much might a gym membership cost?
I'm going to be living/studying abroad in Praugue next semester and exercise regularly. I'll be living near Charles University. I'm not too familiar with the Prague area yet, but are there any gyms near campus?
