My grandfather was czech. I am from America. He used to call me little rooster in czech. It sounded like kyhostestcheck. I know rooster is kohout. So what is little rooster in czech? Jason
Little rooster = Kohoutek Even more little rooster = Kohouteček (which is probably the word you wanted)
So this is most likely going to be a tattoo I am getting. Is that pretty much for sure what it is? How would I write it?
There are some words in czech allowing you to create two levels of "miniatures" uzel - uzlík - uzlíček strom - stromek - stromeček Pavel - Pavlík - Pavlíček ... But cock/rooster is not one of them kohout - kohoutek slepice - slepička - ??? You can create word "kohouteček" but it is not standard czech. For the other word you cannot create it at all.
I do not think slepice is the same word as slípka. Even if it is, other examples: Ovce - ovečka - ??? or maybe more exactly Ovce - ??? - ovečka Židle - židlička - ??? or better Židle - ??? - židlička but Stůl - stolek - stoleček Nos - nosík - nosánek Of course you can create words like ovečička or židličička or even kohoutečečíček :-D, but those are not used. All other I used can be used normally and will be considered standard czech. I guess nobody used this word so far in this topic, so - in czech we call this process "zdrobňování".
