Are acetaminophen and ibuprofen widely available at pharmacies in the CR? They are popularly known as Tylenol and Advil, respectively, in the USA. Also, are quality and accurate electronic thermometers available at the pharmacies as well? And lastly, what about rubbing alcohol? TIA.
All of these are readily available. See a list of pain relievers & fever reducers at www.lekarna.cz/g/leky-volne-prodejne/bolest-zvysena-teplota/. There's Alka-Seltzer, Aspirin, Nurofen, Panadol... The equivalent of Advil is Nurofen (ibuprofen, 200 mg). There's also a soluble version called Nurofen Active that melts in your mouth. Panadol contains 500 mg paracetamol. Some examples of thermometers can be seen at www.lekarna.cz/g/zdravotnicky-material/teplomery-tlakomery/.
As far as I understand, Paralen 500 is the same as Extra Strength Tylenol. The active ingredient is called Paracetamolum, which various sites on the web tell me is another (Latin?) name for Acetominophen. http://www.expats.cz/prague/article/health-medical/prague-flu/ http://www.inchem.org/documents/iarc/vol50/15-paracetamol.html
