On another thread someone say milejui te was just used between lovers or a child to a mother. I got the impression that a mother would say mam te rada to their child. Is this correct?
Hi Kristi, in principle your impression is correct. There are however quite a few other phrases in Czech a mother may say to her child to show her affection more likely than "Mám tě ráda.", such as "Ty jsi moje zlatíčko." Also, I don't think you normally hear a kid say "Miluji tě." to mom. By the way, I would rather not ristrict this talk to kids and mothers, but kids and parents. I'm one too, anyway... Jirka
