I'm currently trying to translate part of this huge book a relative gave me written in Czech about our Priban ancestors from Osek. So I'm starting to learn a few Czech words. The book was written a long time ago and I'm having some issues.

I am finding that one of my ancestors married a farmer's daughter from Strizovic - sorry, can't put in the marks on the letters. I looked it up in Google and it keeps asking me if I"m lookign for Strizov - is this the same place? Is it anywhere near Osek?

I don't think your "Strizovic" is the same place as "Strizov". "Strizovic" is possibly partially germanized form of "Střížovice".

In Czech Republic there're 7 places named "Střížov", 31 places named "Osek" and 3 places named "Střížovice" (nearby Plzeň/Pilsen, nearby Jihlava and nearby Olomouc - in all cases there're also "Osek" and "Střížov" in the vicinity).
