    When I was younger so much younger than today...

    I can manage a very literal translation which i imagine is nonsense in Czech.. :

    Když byla jsem mladši, tak mladši než dnes.

    Když jsem byl(a) mladší, o hodně mladší než dnes...

    Hee hee yes, a friend of mine learned the phrase "when I was younger" from that song.. so he always says it in full.

    So now me too!

    The next line is a bit complicated for me:
    I never needed anybody's help in any way.
    Vůbec jsem nepotřeboval pomoc nikoho(?)

    It wouldn't be incorrect, but better would be:

    ničí pomoc
    or
    pomoc od nikoho
