Just having trouble with my dictionary...is" Damska Jizda" what in English would be called a Hens Party. In others words a girls only night out before getting married?

How do I say "Are you (female) getting married? What date?"

dámská jízda = ladies' party, hen party/night
similarly pánská jízda = stag/buck party

generally no connection with a wedding

    jízda = a ride

Promiň, přebrala jsem. Ptala jsem se, zda se budeš vdávat.

Promiň, když jsi mluvila o dámské jízdě, myslela jsem, že mluvíš o noci před vdáváním.

    I must add:

jedem (or pojedem) = we-go (or we-are-going-to-go, we-shall-go) and not only go

    dovča (slang) = dovolená (holiday)
jet na dovču = to go on holiday
jedem na dovču = we're gonna go on holi(day) :)

jenom samé ženské = just only women

Ne, ne, jenom jedem na dovču samé ženské. = Ne, ne, jenom samé ženy pojedeme na dovolenou. = Oh, no, just only women we are going to go on holiday.

Yeah I know what you mean guys.

In Ireland, we have words which are purse slang, they are technically English, but would not appear in a dictionary. Any Irish person would know what you mean but a foreigner wouldn't have a clue!:)

    !?

    What about

    Měla jsem opici?

I love the idea of the monkey, you have to lie in bed while he sits on a chair picking his nose, screaming and throwing things every time you try to get up.
