Could anyone please tell me the Czech word for "battleaxe" - (I mean the medieval weapon and not a derogatory word for Mother-In-Law  ).

    Válečná sekera.

Not very often used word nowadays, though ;)

    Thanks Eso.

The story I am writing to a friend does have its origins in a conversation about "mother-in-law" (I apologise to all the mothers-in-law out there but my dictionary only gives that definition under "battleaxe"!!). I need the proper word so that the entire story makes sense because I was a sailor many years ago and served in a ship of that name.
