    Hello,

I am thinking about visiting the Czech Republic this summer with two friends for around 10 days or maybe a little longer. I would welcome some advice on a specific destination but my first thoughts were to come to Prague. Is this a good place to start or maybe even end up?

My friends have told me that the Czech people are very friendly, approachable and have an open mind. This kind of attitude is one of the reasons I would like to visit. This and the beautiful cities that the Czech Republic has to offer.

I would like to chat to interesting people and maybe meet up with them when I come over in August.

Looking forward to chatting with you soon.

Prague is a great place with lots to see. One could easily spend 10 days there and not see everything worth seeing. Having said that, there are a number of easy day trips outside Prague that are wonderful, and given that you will be there for 10 days or more, I'd encourage you to get outside Prague for at least 2-3 days, perhaps more. Where to go depends on what you want to see: castles, natural beauty, spas, cultural/historical sites, etc. Name it, and the Czech Republic has it (except for an ocean-front beach ;) ).

This is very true. I should mention, though, that they (like most people in touristy areas) don't appreciate tourist when they are rowdy or disrespectful. I mention this because some of your countrymen (and mine, too :( ) have given tourists of our countries a bad name. So, in short, be respectful of their culture and the Czechs will return the favor.

    Hey Sova,

Thanks for the reply. I will look into what you have suggested.

This site seems to be a hotbed of information so I guess it will be easy to plan our trip.

My crowd is pretty chilled so the Czechs won't have any trouble from us.

    Thanks again for the advice.
