This might seem like a strange question, but is 'yona' a normal name for someone in the CR?
    And Lena?

    Thank you!

Actually never met anybody named "Yona", but Jana, sounding similar (hey, do not take it personally none of you! :-]), is a very common name.

Lena sounds more slavonic, however its most common czech version would be Lenka.

I've also never heard the name "Yona" (or "Jona" in the Czech spelling). Ilona is a fairly common name in the Czech Republic.

Never heard of Yona name spelling before. By sound/pronounciation it is probably Jana... It is possible that Jana moved to English speaking country and changed spelling of her name so it can sound like her name. Keeping spelling of Jana would sound different in English.

Lena would be probably varuation on Lenka.

My brother-in-law is used to listen to name Jéňa ("Ye-eni'ah", sound similar like your Yona), his real name is Jan.
His girlfriend is Lenka, but everybody calls her Léňa ("Le-eni'ah").

    Karel
