Hi. My friends and I are considering going to Prague for spring break, and were wondering if the food/dining is cheap (compared to american standards that is)?

    YES!
You can get a dinner - main course, side dish, dessert and drink for 10 USD, but you can pay ten times more either, it depends on the kind of restaurant you choose. However, Prague prices are much higher than those in other cities and in the country.

Thank you so much for responding! What other cities besides Prague would you recommend? We would like to see some old achitecture and really see the countrys beauty.

    Hi Dashenka!

If you have the time, I would recommend visiting Cesky Krumlov and Southern Bohemia in general. It's a very nice area with pretty, historical towns and beautiful nature. Other popular towns that are not far from Prague are Kutna Hora or the spa towns of Karlovy Vary and Marianske Lazne. And of course there are many old castles but those are typically closed over the winter and reopen in May.

You can get a feel for some of the different regions of the Czech Republic here:

If you like old buildings, the monastry at Kladruby is pretty interesting - but quite hard work to get to without your own transport...
