First time to Prague

I am traveling to Prague towards the end of November for about 8 days. I know its very cold at that time. What is the best way to see the city? I was going to do stuff on my own but also go with tours for half a day or even day long tours. Does anyone know if this is a good way or if there is a better way? I am traveling alone (am a female, 28)and haven't traveled alone before. Any suggestions about anything??? Please help! Also anyone know of "Hotel King George" or "Hotel Jerome House"??? Am thinking of staying there.

Hey, I am also going to Prague. I'll be ther for 19 days in Nov. I am going alone, kind of wierd because I don't know what to do either. I am booked at the City Inn, I was told that it is decent and close to town, ie 10 min walk.

I'm going to be traveling there by myself for the first time next summer, and I'm thinking of staying at "Hotel King George".
Did you stay there? How was it?
