    Hi,

I am thinking of taking a day train from Krakow to Prague.
I was told that the train passes through a scenic mountainous area.
Is that so? If so, the 8 hour journey is quite enjoyable.

There was a train crash recently.
I'm not sure they use that railway right now.

The Train goes on the route Prague-Pardubice-Olomouc-Ostrava-Zebrzydowice-Katowice-Krakow, and this is really not very scenic mountainous area. You should better take train Prague-Kosice, via Horni Lidec, you will see nice mountains there.

Thanks for the info. It is a very sad and unfortunate event.
I am just wondering if there is only one train track from Krakow
to Prague. I saw that there are several tracks on msnbc footage.
Does the overnight train use the same track?
Has anyone been on the overnight train? Can one sleep quite comfortably?
I am thinking of flying from Krakow to Prague, instead.
Initially, I would like to see the scenery since the train passes through Carpathian mountains
