When I looked up přísluší a hladí, I couldn't find any suitable words, but... hledal jsem ve slovníku "fitting" a "caress" a našel jsem "příslušenství" a "hladit". Mimochodem, text písničky je "Letní žár tě dál hladí po duši" ale to zní jako "Letní žár tě dál hladí na duši" když poslouchám písničku. Zájimám se, která věta je správná?
dál (dále) = onward, forth, on (like in to go on, to keep on) dal = he gave hladit (imp.)/pohladit (perf.) někoho na/po něčem = to caress hladit (used in technology) = to polish, to smooth(en), to calender hladit po vlasech, hladit na duši Jistý český Rom pohladil Obamu po vlasech. Obama ho objal. Nyní žádá v Kanadě o asyl (ten Rom, ne Obama). Letní žár tě dál hladí na duši. = The summer heat continues in caressing your soul. (dál expresses continuing) The summer heat gave you a caressing of the soul. = Letní žár ti dal pohlazení na duši.
příslušet means in that context právem náležet = to appertain (by rights, by right of merit) drops of rain are more than what is appertaining to me (by right of merit) (kapky deště jsou víc než co mi náleží po právu = nezasloužil jsem si je, nejsem jich hoden, nemám na ně nárok/právo) slušet has different meaning: "Ta košile mi nesluší." (zákazník) "Sluší. Moc sluší." (vietnamský trhovec)

Teď chápu (I get it) sloveso + dál = (continue + infinitive verb) OR (continue + present participle (-ing))
So, "kapky deště jsou víc než mi přísluší" = "nezasloužím si kapky deště" (I don't deserve rain drops). Is this more or less correct?

hladit po duši - yes hladit na vlasech - rarely The preposition "po" implies that the move is unidirectional (in the right direction, of course). For example, you caress someone's hair from the roots, never from the free end. Never stroke the back of a cat against the hair. = Nikdy nehlaď kočku proti srsti.
More or less. But there is a difference. You can say: Nezasloužím si odměnu, pochvalu, tvou lásku, ... (positive things) Nezasloužím si pokutu, trest, tvou zlobu, ... (negative things) In "nezasloužím si kapky deště": it is not clear if the rain drops are a positive or negative phenomenon. In "kapky deště jsou víc než mi přísluší": the rain drops are explicitly a bonus.
