Czech folk muzic

    There is a difference between "folklore" and "folk". Those links provided by ino are foklore, traditional national music. Usually brass orchestras or dulcimer bands, but this strongly depends on the part of the country.

    What Czechs mean with "folk" is quite different - folk singer is usually a man or woman with guitar or other accompanying instrument (harmonica,...), performing (and usually also composing) some original songs (though making use of the traditional music), some of which have good chance to become "folklore" in a hundred years or so, but not percieved folklore now. Examples - Karel Plíhal, Jaromír Nohavica, Radůza,...
