Maybe so simple as that, but still I don't know what is this kind of shop, in English, Chinese, Hungarian or Czech.
If you are short of money, you will go to pawn shop and leave there some your property - like cellphone, jewellry etc - in exchange for certain amount of money. If you don't pay money back until some time deadline, your property become property of pawnbroker and he can sell it in pawn shop. More: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pawn_shop Some pawn shops are combined with classic second-hand store.
so this is some kind of second hand shop! I'm susprised no one mentionned it when I asked for second hand shops in CR.
Well it's kind of second hand shop (bazar), but important is that "return thing part" - In essence - pawnborker give you a loan with your things as security.
Well, good for you You probably don't watch criminal movies or shows or books, neither Allegedly, sometimes are pawnbrokers connected with organized crime and they help sell stolen goods.
Hear the one about the guy who asked his girlfriend if she would meet him at the pawnshop and kiss him under the balls? Pawnshop signs historically have three large golden or brass colored balls as part of their design.
