    Hi

Anyone out there know the origins of the surname Pernica? My GF comes from Moravia and although she knows its from the area she has not been able to trach down a meaning or origin.

    Thanks

Pernica is a dialect term for a flower pot made from clay (burnt, like bricks). I am not sure about the origin of the word, but probably it has something in common with the adjective "perny" which means difficult, hard, laborious.
