    Hi
My name is Pete Ziska from England. My uncle has traced our family tree back through the Faroe's through Denmark back to Bohemia. If i am right thats prior to the formation of the Czechoslovakia. I will be travelling to Prague in November and i wish to find the Ziska (Zizka) coat of arms. Could somebody offer me some advice please.

    Best regards

    Pete Ziska

But these are coat of arms of Jan Žižka z Trocnova a Kalicha and Pete is most likely interested in the coat of arms of his own family.

Sorry Pete, I don’t think you are related to this Žižka and I don’t think your Czech ancestors have some coat of arms at all. That was a privilege of aristocrats. And with the Republic, the using of aristocratic titles and symbols became illegal (nowadays the law is mostly ignored, but in fact it is still illegal).
