I have been given an email address to the city offices of my ancestors hometown in Bohemia. I was wondering if there is a special format I should use or just write it in paragraph form. Should I like do outline form.
In this day and age, I don't think anyone's going to get too hung up on what format you use, especially in an email. I think the only important consideration is that you write it in Czech (or have it translated) and make sure you provide all necessary information, including complete contact information for yourself (email AND snail mail). If you're looking for birth and death records, you should address it to the Matrika in your subject line. The Matrika is in charge of vital records for a town.
Dekuji jen, I received an email from someone in Czechia who is researching in the area and offered to help me out. She said she was going to check in with archives for me. Should I still write to Matrika, or wait until I hear back from her? Dobry Den, Kathy
