My Great-Grandfather's last name was Pospisil, and he immigrated from Czechoslovakia to America. My grandmother tells me that he owned a large farm in Czech. and that he had a lot of workers. He sold his farm to move to America, but unfortunately didn't do too well there. Does anyone know the Origin of the name, or how I could trace the name back to Czech. to see if I have any relatives there?

Pospíšil is very common czech name. It means something like "somebody who was hurrying up".

As DjAvatar mentioned, Pospíšil is a very common Czech surname. It also doesn't seem to be region-specific, at least not according to the Czech whitepages. If you have any information that would narrow your search to a specific town or region, it would help a lot.
