OK, here's another pronunciation riddle from a beginning Czech student. I've always seen (in my vast 2 weeks of experience) "thank you" written as "de^kuyi", but often it sounds to me like it's very distinctly being pronounced "de^kuyu" with a fairly distinct long "u" at the end, not anything like an "i". Am I just hearing things? De^kuyi! (or is that de^kuyu?) -Buck
Both "děkuji" and "děkuju" are correct ways to say "thank you". I think "děkuju" used to be considered colloquial but is now an accepted, grammatically correct version of "děkuji". So you're not hearing things.
