Hello. I wonder if someone could help me with the song Hajej, nynej, Jezisku. The only Czech lyrics I have been able to find on the web have no diacriticals--and I have no vocabulary--so I can't tell how it's supposed to be pronounced. I belong to a Christmas caroling group, and we would MUCH rather sing this song in the original Czech than in English translation... Please email me with advice. Thanks!
1. Hajej, nynej, Ježíšku, Ježíšku, pučíme ti kožíšku. Budeme té kolíbati, Abys moh' libě pospati, Hajej, nynej, Ježíšku, Pučíme ti kožíšku. 2. Hajej, nynej, miláčku, Miláčku, mariánský synáčku. Budeme té kolíbati, Abys moh' libě pospati, Hajej, nynej, miláčku, Mariánský synáčku. but it is very uncommon christmas carol here...
many many thanks! that's exactly what i needed. i think Hajej, nynej... is probably more popular in its english language version, but only slightly. i have a recording of it in english by the Deller Consort, ca. 1956. actually, if you could point me toward any online resources (or books that i might be able to find in the u.s.) that would include other traditional czech christmas carols and songs, and/or carols from other central/eastern european countries & languages, i'd greatly appreciate it!
