I came across an exercise on a web site where you have to choose the correct possessive pronoun. Náš seminář= Our seminar Váš was also one of the choices given. When I tried váš I was marked wrong. I don't understand why. Couldn't you say "váš seminář" just the same : Your seminar. Thanks, Calvario
I'm not sure, what was assignment of exercise, anyway you are right: Můj seminář - My seminar Tvůj seminář - Your seminar (singular) Náš seminář - Our seminar Váš seminář - Your seminar (plural/formal form)
May be more precisely: Tvůj seminář - Your seminar (singular/"tykání") Váš seminář = Your seminar plural or singular formal (singular/"vykání")
Dzurisovak Go to: http://www.lf3.cuni.cz/cestina/grammar/index.php This is a fun web site. Actually it is for medical students learning Czech. What I like is when you go to the slovnik/dictionary section and you can hear the words listed pronounced. There are a lot of declension tables for when you are studying. Except for my posted misgiving about one of their exercises I find them helpful. I write them out and answer them. Many times when you come upon a subject in a book it gets covered and then your off to something new. This helps keep me fresh on grammer I've already learned and want to go back and re-test myself on. Have fun. Calvario
