Hi all, Firstly I would like to apologize for not being able to speak or write Czech. This is also the main reason why I am turning to you for help. As an editor assistant, I am in charge of a Spanish publication about music under the Third Reich, two chapters of which are devoted to the music of the ghettos and camps. The ghetto village of Terezín is mentioned many times, and I would like to have it transcripted correctly into Spanish. Therefore, my question is: How do you pronounce Terezín? Where do you put the stress: on the first or on the second syllabe? I have already found out that the graphic accent on the last vocal does not have stress value, but I am not sure of how Terezín sounds in Czech. I would very much appreciate any answers or hints that help me solve this small problem. Thanks in advance, best regards, Marta
In IPA it is ['tɛrɛzi:n]. Or you can simply put together the sounds you can hear here. On the first syllable, that's a rule in Czech. Yes, it marks a long vowel (long in duration).
