Ahoy!, It has been a while since I have been very active in this forum, but it has been to good end. My Czech girlfriend and are no more! Yup, we are fiance and fiancee! We're going to marry!!! Talk about culture exchange right? See you all around! Bryan
Congrats! Where did you propose? I love it out west. My husband proposed at the Grand Canyon. You sure had your options of beautiful places out there.
Hey Bryan, Congratulations to you both. Do you plan to tie the knot in the US or in Czech Republic? Or ofcourse both.
Thanks for the congrats all! We are getting married here in the states... probably at a local church with a judge we know to perform the the ceremony. The short honeymoon will be at The Venetian casino... lol, just up the street! We can't afford extravagence just yet, but someday we'll be alright. Anyway, we hope to have another sort of show wedding back in the Czech Rep a year from now. Her family can't make it to this one, so we want to make a showing back at her home. For goodness sake, my family, in all, is only about 25 people. Her immediate family invite list for the Czech wedding just hit a 65 person minimun!!!!!! Then, our real honeymoon will be Italy :-D!! Proposal: Well, I'm working on it . We've been dating a year and a half and it just kinda hit us. We had been talking of marriage for some time, and we both assumed we could wait. Yet, I'm looking into Law and Grad schools out of state, and if my fiancee wants to come with me (her being an international student) we have to marry now to get the paperwork done in time. It is funny though, because we really are in love and can't imagine being apart. So the paperwork is a conveniant excuse to accelerate the whole innevitable anyhow. I still have to formally propose though! I haven't figured it out yet... I'm getting the ring in a few days and then I'll come up with something clever. Something natural, quiet, and alone sounds good. Oh, her wedding ring will be a thin white gold band with a "princess" cut 3/4ths carrot solitaire atop it. Gonna cost an arm and a leg, but that's the ropes!
Bryce Canyon is georgeous and the empty long trails make for a quiet, private, and romantic setting. Just a suggestion  That sounds beautiful! I love white gold. I'm sure you will miss your arm & leg, but she will love it.
I'm thinking probably Mount Charleston sounds like that perfect getaway. We go on hikes up there all the time to escape the drab desert. Oh, and I'm sawing off my leg as I type. har har har.
Mount Charleston is very pretty. I've not personally been there but I've looked at pictures online: http://www.hikinglasvegas.com/slide shows/Mt_Charleston/Mt__Charleston.html
