Now it's starting to get colder, has anyone any recommendations on where to go ice skating in Prague? I have brought my skates with me but I haven't actually been for years so they'll need sharpening.

I had a look at the sports centre at Letnany but my Czech isn't good enough to work out the signs and it looked as though it's mainly private sessions for ice hockey training but I may be wrong.

In case anyone has looked at this and has been wondering themselves where to go skating, I have found a hotel quite near the Eden shopping centre on the 24 tram route, that has its own rink. Apparently, competitive skaters train there and they have someone available to sharpen skates - which I need. PM me if you would like more information.

Very comprehensive. Thanks very much for that. All I have to do now is pluck up the courage to get back on the ice after more than 20 years!
