Tupa is an adjective (femininum) and means blunt
Kresta is a noun derived from Krestan = a Christian

    Good luck with your Czech!

Besides the adjective last names "Tupý (masc.)/Tupá (fem.)", there are also "Tupa" (without accents) - 16 times and "Ťupa" (with hacek above T) - 149 times in the Czech Republic.
(BTW, "Kresta" - 324 times, for comparison: "Novák" - 34522 times; source: Ministry of the Interior of the CR - www.mvcr.cz).
