Hey! I'm an Estonian in need for a translation of this song. It doesn't actually even have to be a perfect translation...just something that grasps the general idea :) I've been trying to makse sense out of it but failed miserably. Could any of you maybe help with bits of it? Any help would be highly appreciated.

Aneta Langerová - Hříšná Těla, Křídla Motýlí

    Jednou už tě málem měla
A už zase by tě chtěla
    Hříšná těla, křídla motýlí
    Krev stéká po růži
    Cos na zeď věšel
    Průvan sfouk a život nešel
    Potrhaná křídla motýlí

Vyhni se botám, který vůní šlapou
    Drtí řádky psané
    Zappou-hou jen skývu málem zlatou
    Prodají tě do výkladních skříní
    Výstavních síní
A každej zvlášť do kapsy svý
    Jeepem si pádí

    Jednou už tě málem měla
    Za duši tě podržela
    Hříšná těla, křídla motýlí
Navrať se skálou, kterou‘s z cesty sešel
    Otoč kamenem, kde‘s vešel
    Napni slunci křídla motýlí

Vyhni se botám, který vůní šlapou
    Sladké písně psané
Zappou-hou jen skývu tak tak zlatou
    Prodají tě do výkladních skříní
    Výstavních síní
A každej zvlášť do kapsy svý
    Jeepem si pádí

    Až vyroste strom
Až udeří do něj blesk a hrom
    Hmmm, noc se válí
    Až vyroste strom
A udeří do něj blesk a hrom
    Narovná, rozdělí, podělí
Poskládáš úterý ke kusům nedělí a půjdeš dál...

    Vzpomeň si na svět
    Kdy pro kousek těla
    Zázraky jsi neviděla
    Neměla jsi křídla motýlí

    Sólo hlas a nástroj

    V roklině pod skálou zjevení
    Údolí rozšklebené napětím, otevřené spojením
    Jeleni obtěžkáni vábením
Vrhají se bezhlavě do hloubi země

    Hi Katrin,

I see that no one has attempted to translate the song for you and I can see why. I'm not surprised that you weren't able to make sense of it. It's a difficult text, very lyrical and abstract, sometimes hard to understand. It's basically a poem made into a song. It would be hard to grasp the general idea, so I'll translate it line by line, hoping that my translation is close enough to what the author tried to convey. I may have misunderstood some parts and apologize in advance for any errors.

Aneta Langerová - Sinful Bodies, Wings of Butterflies

    Jednou už tě málem měla
Once she (= death) almost had you
A už zase by tě chtěla
And now she'd like to have you again
    Hříšná těla, křídla motýlí
    Sinful bodies, wings of butterflies
    Krev stéká po růži
    Blood runs down a rose
    Cos na zeď věšel
That you hung on the wall
    Průvan sfouk a život nešel
Blown away by the draft and life didn't go on
    Potrhaná křídla motýlí
Wings of butterflies all torn up

Vyhni se botám, který vůní šlapou
Stay away from the shoes that walk through the fragrance
    Drtí řádky psané
Crushing the lines written by Zappa
    Zappou-hou jen skývu málem zlatou
For a mere piece of bread that's almost golden
    Prodají tě do výkladních skříní
They'll sell you into shop windows
    Výstavních síní
    Exhibition halls
A každej zvlášť do kapsy svý
And everyone races into their own pockets
    Jeepem si pádí
    In a Jeep

    Jednou už tě málem měla
    Once she almost had you
    Za duši tě podržela
    Held you by your soul
    Hříšná těla, křídla motýlí
    Sinful bodies, wings of butterflies
Navrať se skálou, kterou‘s z cesty sešel
Return through the rocks that led you off the path
    Otoč kamenem, kde‘s vešel
Turn the stone through which you entered
    Napni slunci křídla motýlí
Spread your butterfly wings in the sun

Vyhni se botám, který vůní šlapou
Stay away from the shoes that walk through the fragrance
    Sladké písně psané
Of the sweet song written by Zappa
Zappou-hou jen skývu tak tak zlatou
For a mere piece of bread that's almost golden
    Prodají tě do výkladních skříní
They'll sell you into shop windows
    Výstavních síní
    Exhibition halls
A každej zvlášť do kapsy svý
And everyone races into their own pockets
    Jeepem si pádí
    In a Jeep

    Až vyroste strom
    When a tree grows up
Až udeří do něj blesk a hrom
When it's struck by lightning and thunder
    Hmmm, noc se válí
Hmmm, the night is rolling round
    Až vyroste strom
    When a tree grows up
A udeří do něj blesk a hrom
And it's struck by lightning and thunder
    Narovná, rozdělí, podělí
    Straightens out, separates, divides
Poskládáš úterý ke kusům nedělí a půjdeš dál...
You'll put together Tuesdays with pieces of Sundays and you'll go on...

    Vzpomeň si na svět
    Remember the world
    Kdy pro kousek těla
When for a part of your body
    Zázraky jsi neviděla
    You didn't see the miracles
    Neměla jsi křídla motýlí
    You didn't have butterfly wings

    Sólo hlas a nástroj
    Solo voice and an instrument

    V roklině pod skálou zjevení
In a chasm below the rock of revelations
    Údolí rozšklebené napětím, otevřené spojením
There's a valley gaping with tension, open through connection
    Jeleni obtěžkáni vábením
    Deer heavy with temptation
Vrhají se bezhlavě do hloubi země
Hurl themselves into the depths of the earth

Sorry, I missed the Zappa thing. I didn't really think twice about it, thought it was some weird typo. I admit I didn't research the meaning of the text, just spent 20 min. on a quick translation. Thanks for the link, it's interesting to see song lyrics that actually have to be explained by the author. I mean it in a good way - this is a high quality text, a work of art really.

I edited the translation a little bit based on the author's explanations. Of course anyone is welcome to offer their own version.

I bought Aneta's CD in Prague in the summer - I heard Hrisna Tela so many times in the pub, and liked it so much, I asked someone who it was by so I could buy it. It's a beautiful song.

I was going to ask for a translation, but having checked with a search, I see it's already done! Thanks Dana! I tried the beginning of it myself with a dictionary but got nowhere lol :D

I speak relatively little Czech, but local people were always very impressed by my catchphrase 'Mam rad Anetu' 8)
