    Ahoj Everyone,

What are common or uncommon names Czech people name thier cats and dogs? Or other pets? Plus the translations.
Common names for cats and dogs in America seem to be Fluffy, Spot, Tiger, Stripes, Fido, Puddles, Muffin, Prince, Princess, King, Queenie, Blackie, Killer etc. Some of these names can be either for cats or dogs. Some are only for one or the other. I knew a guy whose dad had a Beagle dog that was always wondering around the Army base and would never come when he was called. So he named the dog D--- It. This guy told me that his dad would call out, "Come here D--- It, D--- It come here!" I once saw a Doberman named Diamond. She wore this big black collar w/ four rows of diamonds.
Do "Czech pets" have similar names?

    Ahoj 4 ted'

Well, Czech language has got something called declension, so Rex (masc. noun, declension pattern muž) in the vocative case is Rexi (sounding like "ricxy), used when calling the dog.

Alik with long e(i) - for those who don't know Czech it would be difficult to use/pronounce this name for dog.

My friend has cat Marushka and another one has dog Marushka.
There is one cat named Chicha with long (e/i), dog Bobik (again long e/i), another little dog is Pusinka (again hard to pronounce right for non-Czech)
