Ok this is a question for all you local Prague people....

I plan to be in Prague for a good seven days and wanted to know how great is the local transportation. Is it as great as Paris? I am trying to avoid having to rent a car or utilize cabs too much and I am completely naiive to Prague and their transportations system so any help is appreciated.

    Thanks!

Public transportation in Prague is cheap, reliable and clean.

For start look to Prague Transportation System section:

Prague and Paris - I've been to both and much prefer the transport system in Prague.

For in and around Prague and even side trips, you won't need a car. The only time you might want a cab is after midnight when the Metro doesn't run and the trams and buses are on reduced schedule. If you do need a cab, use AAA - they are reliable.

Get ready for a treat - Prague is wonderful.
