Another video I consider to be very funny, still starring Václav Klaus. This time it refers to the period when Topolánek's government fell (partly due to Klaus' meddling...) and nobody knew how to form another. So now, Václav Klaus heroically saves the situation during this gollumish "dialogue" with himself...

----------------

Klaus:
A žádní oškliví Evropánci3nám do toho nebudou, nebudou pištět.

Ostatně, kdo jiný než přítel Temného pána5 Putina by mohl přivítat Temného pána Bílého domečku6... Vašiku, my, president republiky7, tě pověřujeme.

Klaus: (Soviet national anthem in background)
Pane premiére, žijeme v těžké, ale opravdu těžké době. Bruselské fašistické svině9 chtějí vzít, ale opravdu vzít suverenitu našim národům i nádorům10. Doufám, že mi představíte opravdu, ale opravdu kompetentní vládu odporníků11, tedy těch, kdo budou Bruselu odporovat.

Klaus:
Soudruhu presidente12, v době ohrožení národních zájmů bruselskými agenty13 chodci a americkými černochy žádám o jmenování zkušeného ministra vnitra.

Klaus:
Pane premiére, a co ten váš navrhovaný Klaus umí?

Klaus:

Klaus:
No nevím, nevím, no ale rozhodně lepší než všichni ti Langrové, které jsem si vymazal z telefonu17. A... co ministr financí, pane premiére?

Klaus:

Klaus:
No tuším, tuším, o koho jde...

Klaus:
Ano, vaše presidentstvo18, jedině profesor Klaus, světová, světová kapacita, budoucí nositel Nobelovy ceny zatočí s touto chřipkou, které různí nedoukové říkají světová hospodářská krise.

Klaus:
Pane premiére, profesora Klause jmenuji opravdu, ale opravdu rád.

Klaus:

Klaus:
No jistě, jistě, horší než Julínek nebudete20. Pane premiére, a co ministr obrany?

Klaus:

Klaus:
Myslíte Vaška Klause? A je dost tvrdý na to, aby zavedl stané právo, nechal pověsit všechny ty, ty Topolánky22 a vytáhl na Brusel, pane premiére?

Klaus:
No prahne po vyplenění a znásilnění Josého Barrosa23.

Klaus:
Hmmm, znásilněníčko24... no tak to je můj člověk, pane premiére.

Topolánek:
Proboha, kdo toho šílence zastaví?

Paroubek:
Obávám se, že nikdo...

Topolánek:
A ty ses s ním spikl, naivo!25

Paroubek:
Nespikl bych se s ním, kdybys ho nenechal zvolit.26

Klaus:
No no no no no...

--------------

1 - vládička - deminutive for "vláda" (a government)

2 - přítelíček - deminutive for "přítel" (a friend), often considered derogatory, but this time it is for evoking the gollumish atmosphere... the creature also loved deminutives...

3 - Evropánek - deminutive for "Evropan" (a European)

4 - téci někomu do bot = to be in troubles

5 - Temný pán = Dark lord, another reference to the Lord of the Rings

6 - in this case, "Temný pán" is a pun to Obama's colour; domeček - deminutive for "dům" (a house)

7 - "my, president republiky, pověřujeme..." so called plural majestaticus, often used in fairy tales in the speech of a king (it was a popular joke that Klaus never wanted to be Czech president, he rather wanted to be Czech king... and sometimes he acts so...)

8 - mocnářstvo - derivative from "mocnář" (sovereign, monarch, potentate), which is often associated with the old austro-hungarian empire... the word "mocnářstvo" does not really exist, it is just an invented word to address the president most subserviently

9 - svině = swine, in Czech also a common bad name

10 - nádor = tumour, attempted pun t the word "národ"... but in this case not really inteligent, I admit...

11 - odporník - invented word, portmanteau of "odpor" (resistence) and "odborník" (expert), meant as a person who is adept at resisting... sounds funny because it resemble also the word "odporný" (repulsive)

12 - soudruh = comrade; a common addressing during the communist regime, here used as a reference to Klaus dubious past as well as present (first, he was elected with the help of communist, and during the second election, he negotiated with them... even though the party he comes from claims to be strongly anti-communist and plays on the note that no one should speak with the communists...)

13 - agent chodec - agent that crosses a border secretly somewhere... a reference to the 50's communist propaganda that the republic is being infiltrated by those imperialist agents/spies

14 - sarajevský atentát - originally the assassination of austrian archduke d'Este in 1914 which waas the cause of the WWI; in Czech jurnalist slang it came as a name for the government crisis of 1997 when Klaus' government fell during his visit to Sarajevo

15 - reference to alleged secret account of Klaus' party in Swiss banks where secret "sponsorship" was directed... one of the causes of 1997 crisis

16 - Klaus is in the evidence of communist Secret Service, it is speculated that he was an agent or confident, but some claim, he was in KGB, hence his good relations with Putin... nothing of this was ever proved

17 - reference to Klaus' childish act of erasing Langer's (a minister of the fallen government) number from his phone

18 - presidentstvo - another invented word to address the president most subserviently

19 - vysokopostavenstvo - dtto., this time from words "vysoké postavení" = "a high social status"; kind of resembles the old Russian honorifics like "vaše prevoschoditělstvo"

20 - Tomáš Julínek - former minister of healthcare in the government of Topolánek

21 - Georgij Konstantinovič Žukov - marshal of the Soviet Army during WWII; he defended Moscow and was one of the most decorated Soviet generals

22 - Mirek Topolánek - prime minister of the failed government... not on good terms with Klaus, although they are originally from the same party

23 - José Barroso - president of the European commission, often considered as the head of the European union

24 - znásilněníčko - deminutive from "znásilnění"... I have to add, that the deminutive do not sound only very gollumish, they also sound somewhat... homosexual... which is a reference (together with the object of the act...) to Klaus' alleged homosexuality

25 - Paroubek, the opposition leader finally managed to undermine the governments positions due to the help of Klaus' meddling (Klaus had a strong support in the party of Topolánek, so some government deputies actually helped the government to fall)

addendum:
the name of the video "Klaus si to udělá sám" is also a pun... it literally means that he will do it (that is creating the government) all by himself, but "udělat si to sám" also means "to masturbate"...

I find this humour a little forced. The old Gumáci were more natural. Cool

Well, some of those "puns" and "slips of tongue" are very forced and not very intelligent, I admit, but it seems it is currently the best political satire we have...:/
