in completing an exercise in making polite requests, I became quite confused.
ex:
1. (ty) Podat tu knihu = Podal bys mu tu knihu? Would you hand (to) me the book
2. (ty) Půjčit ten časopis = Půjčil bys mi ten časopis? Would you lend (to) me the magazine.
Can someone explain why it is "mu" in the first example and "mi" in the second? Both seem to be in the dative form (to me). _________________ Bůh ti žehnej |

mu = to him
mi = to me
Both forms are short. |
