Is Marek used as a boy's name in Czech Republic?

Looking for a boy's name and really like that one. Some family on my mom's side was from Czechoslovakia. Is this name commonly used nowadays?

I imagine it is fairly common - I have met several Mareks in Czech Republic, common in Polish too. It is a male name equivalent to Mark.

It definitely is a traditional male name. It’s personal holiday is April 25th.

Určitě. Když jsem byl angličtinář v Česku jsem měl student který se jmenoval Marek, a měl stejné příjmení jako já.

Prosím, dělal jsem zde gramatické chyby? Měl jsem uživat "jmenuje" nebo "jmenoval"?
