    My last name is Tvrz I know th meaning of this word but that's about all. If any one has any information let me know. I have family in il. tx. and az.

    There are cca 480 people with the same last name TVRZ (TVRZOVÁ) in the Czech Republic. The feminine form is TVRZOVÁ.

    Try http://www.mvcr.cz/statistiky/jmena/ - Interior Ministry statistics. The page is in Czech only, but quite easy to understand. Choose men / women and name / surname in the left top corner, then download a file.

    Data for "Tvrz" I found there - 242 men named Tvrz, 244 women named "Tvrzová". That fits szarkafarka's number.
