Having never lived in Communism, I don't quite understand the Memorial to the Victims of Communism talked about in the Blog.

I don't understand why the statues look like that. It more reminds me of the Holocaust. Is it a statement that the victims were stripped of everything including all dignity, material possessions, and health?

Or is there more to this that I'm not grasping?

    Please explain.

I think you need a short sojourn in uranium mine to appreciate qualities of communism.

OK, seriously, this is simply Olbram Zoubek's style.

From far view "The stairs to nowhere"
From near view "Group of leper people"
    :?

It is supposed to be monument but I just can not call it so. Pure stairs would be much better then this mockery .

The fact you do not understand it has nothing to do with place you lived. Nobody understand it. (Maybe Olbram Zoubek do).

I am sorry if I offended anybodies feeling toward this memorial or past era but I absolutely do not like this "monument".

    Why it looks like that:
The statues look like that because (regardless 'how they looks' ) it is only one man who is more and more damaged by walking through the life in communists era.

Oh, that makes more sense. Thank you for the explanation.
