    Hi,
I recently spent a couple weeks in Brno at the Janacek Music Festival, and I snapped photos of two plaques that I would like translated.
I'll try to transcribe them here, but the first one -- commemerating the Czech writer Karel Capek -- is carved in strangely slanted relief, and is a bit difficult to parse out.
(If anyone would like to help, I could email the photos directly).

    ZDEZILV LETECH 1905 AZ 1907
    ZASVYCHGYMNAZ NICH STUDI
    KAREL CAPEK
    BYLTO CASJE - OPRVN CHKROK
    V LITERATURE

(having just typed it out, I know that lines two and four can't be right, but the photo's difficult to read).

The second, to the composer Pavel Haas and his brother, actor Hugo Haas, is much easier:
    VTOMTO
    DOME
    PROZIVALI
    SVE MLADI
    A PRVNI
    UMELECKE
    USPECHY
    BRNENSTI
    RODACI

    BRATRI

    PAVEL HAAS, HUDEBNI SKLADATEL
    HUGO HAAS, HEREC REZISER

thank you to anyone who braves this task,
