Vera Chytilova on DVD or video

Postby Ditie » 08-Apr-04 18:44

Can anyone tell me where I can get any of the films by Vera Chytilova on either DVD or video? I am in the UK, so they would have to be compatable for use here.

Thanks,
Ditie

The Second-Run DVD release of Sedmikrásky (Daisies) is generally available on amazon.co.uk. In addition to the main feature, that release includes Cesta (Journey), which is an interview/documentary film that mostly features Věra talking about life and philosophies and such. It's quite good. She was a very interesting lady. I never even met her, but I sure do miss her

Kalamita (Calamity) also shows up on the UK Amazon from time to time

They might have Ovoce stromů rajských jíme on the Bontonland web site. I got it at their store. There's a North American release by Facets, but it's a really bad edition...best to hold out until you come across the Czech release.
