Car Rental - Frequently Asked Questions

How can I pay for my rental?
Auto Europe accepts American Express, Mastercard, Visa and personal checks.

How is my rate guaranteed?
Car hire rates are guaranteed in euros. All bookings require a full prepayment to confirm.

Is there a fee for canceling or changing a reservation?
United States: There is no fee to change or cancel a car rental booking provided that you contact Auto Europe before the end of the rental period. All changes and cancellations must be processed by Auto Europe and not through their affiliates.
Europe: Auto Europe has no cancellation or amendment fees when Auto Europe is advised 48 hours prior to the rental start date. Should you cancel less than 48 hours prior to rental start date, not show up or show up late to collect the vehicle, a no show fee equal to the first 3 days of the rental will be charged. Auto Europe cannot refund any unused days if the vehicle is returned early.

What do I need to pick up my car?
In order to pick up your car you are required to provide a copy of your car hire reservation voucher, credit card and drivers license. Auto Europe's vouchers contain specific information about the car you have reserved, the hire rate, and other details. Vouchers are generally emailed to you immediately upon receipt of payment. If needed a voucher can also be sent by fax. A rental agreement is completed at the car hire counter at the time of pick-up.

What kind of insurance can I get for my rental car?
Insurance coverage varies by country. Please see the insurance information in the Driving Information section for the country where you will be renting a car or our detailed insurance information page.
