Prague Parks and Gardens

Prague has many parks, both in and outside of the center. There is always a peaceful place nearby to escape the crowds and noise of the city. Your children may appreciate sitting on a bench with an icecream cone or running along the park paths. Many parks also include children's playgrounds.

In the city center:

Petřín Hill
Petřín Hill offers a variety of child-friendly activities, including a playground on the bottom of the hill.

Franciscan Garden (Františkánská zahrada)
This is a peaceful garden behind the Pasáž Světozor between Vodičkova Street and Jungmannovo náměstí Square, not far from Wenceslas Square. It offers a playground for kids.

Letná Hill
This large park is worth a visit not only for some of the best views of Prague, but also for its many paths that are great for skateboarding, rollerblading, or simply just walking. There are two playgrounds in the park along with a couple of restaurants.

Střelecký ostrov (Shooters Island)
Střelecký ostrov is a fun place to take a break with the kids. There's lots of open space for them to run around and they can be entertained for a while on the small playground.

Outside of the center:

Riegrovy Sady
A popular park in Prague 2, Riegrovy Sady includes a very popular playground for kids, a large summer beer garden, and nice views of the Prague Castle.

Havlíčkovy Sady
Havlíčkovy Sady in Prague 2, commonly referred to as "Grébovka" by the locals, was completely renovated several years ago, and it shows. It is a wonderful place to walk around, sit at a café, spend some time at the children's playground, or visit the grotto (very fun for kids!).
