    Hi everyone,

I'm an English girl (well, woman - I have just turned 30!) who recently moved to Prague with her Czech partner.

I've started writing a blog which I hope is a quirky and humourous take on expat life. I'd be really grateful if you could take a look and let me know what you think.

    Thanks!

I could chose the easy way and say nothing or just typing a few pleasant words. Instead, I'm gonna express my real impressions about your blog.

I like: Your writing style. Which I guess it's the most important.

I don't like so much: texts are too long, and we live in an era when free time to read blogs is so short.

It's in my favorites list now though.

Thanks for all your comments but especially to Torgut. It's nice to be praised but I really appreciate balanced feedback too!

I know what you mean about the length of the posts: I'd say they're borderline too long so I'll work on trying to be more concise.

    Hope you all keep reading!

I love long texts and books, so it's no problem for me.

    Hi lisette,
I like it; long doesn't bother me. I left a comment on your blog. :)

Great blog! I especially enjoyed the write up about the trams and the one about your day trip to Krivoklat.

Some of the articles are a bit too long, but I enjoyed reading!

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback!

As for the length, when I tried to make the posts shorter, I thought the quality wasn't as good somehow and a couple of other people made comments to the same effect. I try to keep all the posts around 600 words though, which I don't think is all that long.

Katie: let me know by PM when you get here, maybe we can meet for a coffee?

Would be great to have coffee- I too am doing the 'move for love' thing!
The blog is great and I've added it to my favourites so I can keep checking :)

Your expat shopping list was quite helpful as I am now going to stock up on Scwartz jars. I'd already started stockpiling enough of my favourite toiletries to get me throughout a nuclear fallout (I'm ginger and fussy, so certain brands must be had ;) )

Currently spending my last half-term of the school year sorting, selling useless things on ebay, browsing Prague jobs and trying to work out what other organising I need to do! 64 days to go.... (I arrive 1st/2nd August)

Glad the expat shopping list post helped!

So you too are doing the move for love thing - there must be something about these Czech men ;)

Anyway, give me a shout when you get here - I'll definitely be around in August.

Well, I am just about a week from arriving now and a very odd mix of extremely nervous/upset to be leaving my family/friends and very, very excited too. I arrive 1st August and am off to Croatia for a week almost immediately, but will be about from mid-August onwards, so hopefully we can get a coffee some time. I am a bit of an espresso fiend, I warn you!

Anyway, I too am blogging about my experiences; mostly for family and friends to keep up with what is going on in my life, but thought I'd post it here for yourself and any others. At the moment, it is pre-move, so not really Prague related yet, but I suppose it's still all about the big expat upheaval.

Hope you're enjoying the Czech summer. The English one sucks right now. It rained on St Swithens day and every day since!
