What exactly is the work that is being carried out on Charles Bridge and how long is it due to last? :?:

That sucks. Does anyone have any pictures of what it looks like with all the construction? It's a beautiful area and to clutter it up with construction for several years is a shame. (but I'm sure it's an important necessity). :cry:

It's a very important necessity!!! The bridge was apparently more severely damaged during the floods than they first thought - which they determined only after starting work on the bridge. I think for something that's what...800 years old?...that 10 years of work is the least they can do!
Hear, hear! I sometimes use it to actually get from one side to the other and I usually think it's be quicker to swim across!
I've always thought they should mark off an "express lane" for those who want to use the bridge as a way of getting from one side to the other, not as a tourist attraction
