Two of us plan a walking trip (*maybe* some biking) along part of the Czech Greenways trail in S. Moravia, during the last week of May. We hope to stay in villages & the smaller towns in little B&Bs or private homes but can't really predict exactly the days we'll be in any particular place. I'd like to hear from others who have tried this -- how likely are we to find places without advance reservations? I have some basic knowledge of Czech so am not worried about communicating our needs.

Thanks for any helpful advice. :)

You should use Czech name for Czech Greenways trail ....I don't think anyone here knows which area do you mean.

You should not have too much problem to find accommodation out of town on short notice at that time of the year. Are you really walking for days and days.....and days?

Thanks - I didn't think about that!
What, please, is the Czech name?

And yes, for days, though we might combine bus or train travel, depending on the situation. We've not done it before -- but we've been reading as much as we can online from people who have. We considered biking -- then we came to our senses.

Well.......that is my point....I was born in CR and I don't know which part of CR are you talking about. Someone will share experience with you or at least find out from CR websites, but we need to know where is it.

I took time to Google Moravia Greenways trail and found lots of information you will find helpful one of them http://www.pragueviennagreenways.org/cm ... lrena.html actually whole website is just what you need.

Bit too long walk for me I would say, but obviously real beauty and well worth the sweat - considering so many people are crazy about it. I still don't have a Czech name for the area and don't have much time to search for it (would appreciate it if anyone here knows), but you just go on and Google, Google Google and you will find lot in English.

Who knows, I may get idea for my stay in CR later this year. Just feel like doing something "adventurous" by rented car.

We did google (that's where we began finding info about the trail last year) but didn't discover sites with Czech name for it. I appreciate the site you sent - I hadn't thought to check specifically Moravia. :)
